Dr. Ruth Olvera-Crutchfield
Dr. Crutchfield is the wife of 28 years to Minister Jason Crutchfield and mother of four beautiful children, Ayesha, Jared, Jayden, and James, who are twins. Academically, Dr. Crutchfield has a bachelor’s degree in Theology, a bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Communications Disorders, a master’s in Communication Disorders Bilingual Bicultural, and a Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology. Professionally she is a Tenured Associate Professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She has multiple publications in peer-reviewed scholarly journals and her research interests stem from her Hispanic origins — her focus being on bilingual assessment and intervention along with increasing awareness of the importance of early intervention.
Ministry
Her father, Pastor Juan Olvera, converted to Christ under the ministry of Evangelist Gilberto Munoz. She was raised in the Apostolic Assembly and is a pastor’s daughter and now a minister’s wife. She was baptized at the age of 13 in July of 1987 and received the gift of the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues after a year of being baptized on a Wednesday service when there were few present but God’s presence was powerful in San Juan, TX. Dr. Crutchfield has served in leadership at the local level through the youth department as Federation Treasurer for six years, as general church secretary currently, and as a local president for the Dorcas of Christian Praise Tabernacle in San Juan, Texas. She was elected in August 2017 as president of the Ladies Federation of the South Texas Ladies Federation and continues to serve the South Texas Dorcas until August of 2023. She now rejoices in being able to serve at the national level for a second term.
Goals & Joys
Her goal is to continue serving the Lord in the direction that God leads and most importantly, continue to win souls for Christ, walking as a living testimony of a present-day Apostolic woman. Her hobbies include singing, leading worship, reading, writing, exercising, and celebrating her family.

La Dra. Crutchfield es la esposa por 28 años del ministro Jason Crutchfield y madre de cuatro hermosos hijos, Ayesha, Jared, Jayden y James, que son cuates. Académicamente, la Dra. Crutchfield tiene una licenciatura en Teología, una licenciatura en Trastornos de la Comunicación Bilingüe, una maestría en Trastornos de la Comunicación Bilingüe Bicultural y un Doctorado en Patología del Habla y Lenguaje. Profesionalmente es Profesora Asociada Titular en la Universidad de Texas Rio Grande Valley. Tiene múltiples publicaciones en revistas académicas arbitradas y sus intereses de investigación provienen de sus orígenes hispanos. Su enfoque es la evaluación e intervención bilingüe junto con una mayor conciencia de la importancia de la intervención temprana.
Ministerio
Su padre, el pastor Juan Olvera, se convirtió a Cristo bajo el ministerio del evangelista Gilberto Muñoz. Fue criada en la Asamblea Apostólica, es hija de un pastor y ahora esposa de un ministro. Fue bautizada a la edad de 13 años en julio de 1987 y recibió el don del Espíritu Santo con la señal de hablar en lenguas después de un año de ser bautizada en un servicio de miércoles cuando había pocos presentes, pero la presencia de Dios era poderosa en San Juan TX. La Dra. Crutchfield se ha desempeñado en el liderazgo a nivel de Sur de Texas a través del departamento de jóvenes como Tesorera de la Federación durante seis años, actualmente como secretaria general de la iglesia local y como presidente local del Tabernáculo de Alabanza Cristiana Dorcas en San Juan, Texas. Fue elegida en agosto de 2017 como presidenta de la Federación de Dorcas del Sur de Texas y continúa sirviendo a las Dorcas del Sur de Texas hasta agosto de 2023. Ahora se regocija de poder servir a nivel nacional por un segundo término.
Metas y alegrías
Su meta es continuar sirviendo al Señor en la dirección que Dios le indique y lo más importante, continuar ganando almas para Cristo, caminando como un testimonio vivo de una mujer Apostólica actual. Sus pasatiempos incluyen cantar, dirigir la adoración, leer, escribir, hacer ejercicio y celebrar a su familia.
